COURSE ABSTRACT:

This course provides an overview of somatosensory tinnitus (SST), defined as tinnitus that is influenced by the somatosensory system, typically of the cervical spine and temporomandibular areas. Underlying mechanisms, clinical presentation, and treatment options for SST are discussed. The course emphasizes the importance of recognizing potential SST and of referring patients to appropriate healthcare providers for comprehensive assessment and management.

Her primary professional focus is assessment and management of tinnitus and decreased sound tolerance and more recently cochlear implants.
